At breakfast I made the final, and inevitable, decision that my walk must stop.
I may well return to it and complete it in stages in future years, but to try and carry on now is just risking more serious injury.
I have many people to contact about the ramifications of this, and will start doing so from tomorrow, but for today I have concentrated an enjoying Liverpool with Tom and Hannah. We did a bus tour, had lunch by Albert Dock and went to the Anglican Cathedral. Hannah leaves in the morning, and Tom in the afternoon. I am staying in Liverpool for a couple more days, and will visit Manchester (never been!) after that before returning home next week.
Tomorrow I will contact everyone properly and write a proper blog.

We have loved following your excellent and informative blogs Guy and offer you our commiserations at what must have been a really difficult and heart wrenching decision. We are glad that Tom and Hannah were there to enjoy some time together in Liverpool. Your plans for the future are eminently sensible. Looking forward to seeing you again in Maythorne.
