Arcasaid Guest House, Lybster gets the prize for the best accommodation of the whole trip - and the warmest welcome.....which I kindly repaid by taking the key with me - host, James, had to drive down the road to catch me. I felt a right wally - though I guess it is the first time out of 78 nights.

Simon decided to do this day by bus to be sure of having the energy for the final day, so I walked alone. My cold and cough are again a little better, but still not gone 19 days since the first symptoms.

The first couple of hours were cloudy/misty, though not cold, and the the bright sunshine which has bee a theme of most of the last two weeks returned. The terrain was hilly but never steep - and there are many more dwellings and businesses near the road here than there were further south.

Although lowering the tone of the blog a bit, I did enjoy this road-side sign.

I had a snack by the roadside and arrived in Wick - via Lidl - at about 2.30. Simon and I had a coffee before going round to the Harbour View Guest House. This is and old fashioned place, which des indeed overlook the harbour - I have been watching boats/ferries come in and out while I have been doing the Blog.

Simon was not impressed by Wick or the location of the hotel. It is true Wick is a slightly run down working town, but I have stayed in Preston Dumfries and Balluch...................I rather like Wick and especially overlooking the harbour.

Stats: today 14.44 miles, this trip 222.53 miles, since Land's end 1203.16. More sponsorship creeping in. Last 9quite long) day tomorrow and then a rest day in JoG to do pictures, video, social media etc. I will be doing tomorrow's blog almost certainly on Thursday morning - which is when we will do the last half mile to the sign-post
