Observant followers of this blog, if any, may query this being day 64. I have adjusted the numbers to discount rest days. This is the 64th walking day.
I set off from Fort William and took the Great Glen Way. It was in order to do the GGW that I have stayed to the West so far. Most of today's walk was along the Caledonian Canal. At some stages it was remarkable to be on a towpath, with the canal on your left, while on your right down 20 feet or so was the river Lochy. I did not see any river craft except a group of canoes early in the day.
After 3 miles I met my cousin Hugh, who walked the Garstang to Auldgirth stage with me in 2023, and will be with me until Inverness.

Pleasant weather, and most of the route on the towpath so easy walking a total of 15.22 miles. At lunchtime I reached the point of having walked 1,000 miles since Land's End.

The last 3 miles were on the road to Spean Bridge, which took us past the Commando Memorial.

At my very welcoming B and B (but no tv), the host offered to drive us back to the Great Glen Way in the morning, saving us retracing our steps for 3 miles. Very pleased as tomorrow will now be 16 rather than 19 miles!
Total miles now 1005.86. 15 days to go.
